Prevent Staff Burnout
The Biosound® Therapy System is used also to prevent staff burnout. While the physical effects of stress can negatively impact employees, the economic consequences are also alarming. It is estimated that workplace stress in the U.S. alone cost businesses $200 billion per year in absenteeism, lower productivity, staff turnover, workers’ compensation and other stress-related expenses. Considering this, stress management may be a business’s most important challenge of the 21st century. The addiction treatment profession can be very stressful and many providers of the Biosound® Therapy System allow the staff to take full advantage of the system when not in use by clients. Studies have shown that decreased stress directly correlates to increased productivity.
Assist With Detox
Patients in the process of detoxing at addiction treatment centers are typically stressed, anxious and suffering from withdrawal symptoms. The Biosound® Therapy System has been proven to reduce all these symptoms and assist with detox. Pre and post session, patients are reporting an amazing sixty to seventy percent of reductions in fear, anxiety, cravings, and body aches. Providers are also reporting a reduction in medications dispensed for anxiety and cravings. Rest is critical to the detox process and the fact that most will attain a pre-sleep theta level brainwave state during a session will help facilitate a much deeper sleep that night.
The Biosound® Therapy System is a great tool to use for Crisis Intervention. When clients are in crisis mode the Biosound® Therapy System is used to bring them into a state of ease and cooperation. The combination of the binaural beats and sound frequency vibrations has a calming effect on the client. Staff can also employ the system as a behavior modification resource as clients will invariably ask to schedule the next session after treatment. Scheduling additional sessions may be made contingent on better behavior post treatment.
Reduce Early Discharges (AMA’s)
The Biosound® Therapy System is helping to reduce early discharges (AMA’s) in many addiction treatment centers. Our providers are reporting a dramatic reduction and in some cases elimination of AMA discharges as they integrate the Biosound® Therapy System with their program. When a client is threatening to leave the addiction treatment facility they will typically schedule a longer session and ask the client to choose a selection, in other words give them options and relay to them if they wish to leave post session they may do so. Our providers are reporting overwhelmingly positive results with this method.
